How to Get Civil Engineer Licensure in The United States?

In the United States, the license registration for engineering is offered by each individual state. Once an individual receives license, he/she is considered as professional engineers (PE) who are licensed to perform certain tasks.

General Requirements to Get Civil Engineering Licensure

1.     A Four Year Professional Degree * ABET-accredited degree or degrees * ABET equivalent degree

2.     Pass the FE Exam *Fundamental of Engineering Exam (FE)

3.     Acceptable work experience ( not less than 4 years)

4.    Pass Professional Engineering Exam

In the United States, engineers are licensed at the state level by professional licensing boards.
